David Stillman Meyer is a Manhattan–based, award-winning creative director, illustrator, writer and filmmaker.
After studying Art History at Vassar and ticking some “Vassar Girl” boxes – semester in Paris, internships at Ralph Lauren, Christie’s and Artforum – Meyer beelined for Manhattan, the shores of which he had been desperate to breach since his birth somewhere in Southern Minnesota.
He landed his first big job inside the Noguchi-lined SoHo office of hotelier André Balazs. It was there, on the front lines of the boutique hotel revolution, rising through the ranks from assistant, to graphic designer to art director and editorial director, that he learned the value of a good image, good copy and to never trust the cheapest quote. After the company split up (and Meyer was in no way burnt out by corporate politics) he struck out on his own as a freelance creative director and graphic designer.
All the while, his drawing skills were developing and in late 2024 he offered his first collection of illustrated ski posters. More collections followed and more are to come!
